Multi-subject educational portals
These educational portals often partner with top global Universities and mostly for adult learners. Some courses are not free, but many are. You will need to sign up using an email address.
Khan Academy
- A large collection for of FREE courses for kids from nursery to secondary school. Also includes resources for teachers and parents.
BBC Bitesize
- Short, easy-to-follow lessons from BBC for kids aged 4 to 14. Promotes remote learning using brief films, quizzes and hands-on activities. Requires VPN
Coursera
- In our opinion one of the best sites for learning programming and Computer Science at pre-university and university level. Also includes many other technical subjects.
EDX
- A website with an incredibly large number of courses for older kids and adults looking for new skills and professional knowledge.
iTunes U
- The site made by Apple hosts an extensive and diverse list of lessons and courses (more than 100 types).

TopCoder
- A unique site for programming competitions with other people.
Hackerrank
- A website that teaches not only programming, but also algorithms as well as mathematics.
CodeChef
- This website offers hundreds of different programming tasks on different topics.
Resources for English
EF SET
- EF SET is a free online text app where you can check your English level.
The site has a lot of tests for all levels of English - from beginner to advanced.
Cake
- Cake is an application that allows you to learn English using video tutorials that simulate communication with a native speaker. These include YouTube videos and excerpts from popular movies and TV series, which were turned into educational content. The video tutorials are divided by difficulty levels and by topic. The videos last up to 2 minutes, each video has English subtitles and a translation into Russian.
LearnEnglishKids by British Council
- LearnEnglishKids is a website by British Council that aims to support parents whose children are currently unable to go to school. You can find a lot of online games, songs, stories and activities for children on the site. And it’s all free. In addition to games and stories, the site features articles for parents that are about supporting children in learning English.
